Janet was my mum she was born on the 6/02/1933 she died on the 19/07/06, she was 72years old,3years 3 months ago. she was a very strong lady who loved my dad Charles, her three children Ruth, Lisbeth, and Charles and her 3 grandchildren Gareth, Rebecca, and Nicholas. Alexander was born after mum died. she had a very good relationship with her two son in laws Steve and Chris and her daughter in law Cornelia. Mum was also devoted to her mum, my Grandmother Mary who died 15/11/2008 at the age 101, ?ovarian cancer. My mum loved life, she had a strong sense of duty, she was intelligent, loyal as a friend and mum and she had a tremendous sense of fun. Everyone who met my mum loved her. She was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 1999 had surgery and treatment, then in 2004 coming up to the five years of post treatment, following a routine scan, secondary tumours were found in both of her lungs, and she had surgery to remove them in April and June of that year 2004. August 2004 she began to have symptoms of nausea and abdominal swelling, mum was diagnosed a month later with ovarian cancer, which was extensive and unrelated to the Bowel cancer. How unlucky can you be to have two unrelated cancers, but mum took it in her stride and went on to have surgey and chemotherapy. Sadly the chemotherpay was not successful and she lost her fight for life. she had great faith in her oncologist and in her treatment and it was only a month before she died that she stopped her treatment, and this was not out of choice, but that she became too ill to have the treatment, My mum fought her illness bravely she was not one to give in. she is sadly missed there isn't a day goes by when I dont think about her and miss her tremendously. love you mum xx
